CHS students have a bright future ahead, and our guidance counselors
Our guidance and counseling department helps students with registration, orientation, choosing courses of study, and graduation. We also provide guidance when it comes to summer and independent study programs, assessment testing, college applications, financial aid, career training, and military enlistment.
Graduation Information
To earn a high school diploma from Corcoran High School, students must:
- Accumulate a total of 260 semester credits.
- Complete specific course requirements listed in the student and/or guidance handbooks.
- Achieve passing grades in the English/Language Arts and Mathematics sections.
Testing Information
Our guidance counselors are here to help your child study, schedule, and pass the following assessment tests:

- AP Testing
- CAASPP - The CAASPP link will take you to resources to help you understand the new state testing system — California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP).

ASVAB
The ASVAB is a multiple-aptitude test that measures developed abilities and helps predict future academic and occupational success in the military. Please contact a CHS guidance counselor for test dates.
