Who do I speak with regarding my student's attendance?

The CHS Attendance Office, located in the Main Office at 1100 Letts Avenue, assists students and families with attendance questions, absences, attendance records, and general attendance support.

Families needing additional attendance support, including attendance improvement planning or intervention services, should schedule an appointment with their student's Learning Director through the Registrar.

How do I report my student's absence?

Parents or guardians should notify the Attendance Office as soon as possible whenever a student will be absent from school.

Please provide the student's name, the reason for the absence, and the expected date of return, if known.


Who do I contact for student services?

The CHS Counseling Office is staffed by three full-time Learning Directors who support students throughout their high school experience.

Student services include:

  • Academic planning
  • Graduation progress monitoring
  • Course scheduling
  • Attendance support
  • Behavior support
  • Transcript review
  • College and career planning
  • Military planning
  • IEP and Section 504 support

If you are unsure who to contact, the Counseling Office will connect you with the appropriate staff member.


How do I access my student's grades and attendance?

Parents and students can monitor grades, attendance, schedules, and other important information through the Aeries Parent Portal.

How do I address a concern I have with the school?

Corcoran High School is committed to resolving concerns professionally, respectfully, and as close to the source as possible.

Our recommended process is:

Step 1: Contact your child's teacher to discuss the concern.

Step 2: Request a conference with the teacher and your child's Learning Director.

Step 3: If the concern remains unresolved, it will be reviewed by an Assistant Principal in coordination with the Principal.

Step 4: If necessary, submit a formal district complaint using the appropriate complaint process.

Corcoran High School prohibits retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or complaint in good faith.


What food services are available for students?

Breakfast and lunch are provided to all students at no cost during the school day. An after-school snack is also available for students participating in after-school activities.

Additional information:

  • Students in grades 10–12 may leave campus during lunch in accordance with school policies and individual student eligibility.
  • Food delivery services are permitted during lunch only and must be picked up at the Main Office (1100 Letts Avenue).
  • Food and beverages are not permitted during class, with the exception of clear bottled water, unless approved by school staff.

What do I do if my child has medical needs at school?

Corcoran High School has a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) available to support students with health needs during the school day.

Please contact the CHS Main Office if your student requires:

  • Medication during school hours
  • A physician-directed health care plan
  • Medical accommodations
  • Support for chronic medical conditions
  • Assistance following an injury or illness

Students may not possess medication on campus unless specifically authorized by law and approved by the school nurse. Prescription and approved medications are administered in accordance with district policy and physician authorization.
